Spring is (almost) in the air...

But until then, here's what's going down.

This weekend, one night only...

83 Gallery in Chicago!!! Oh yes. Going to be a good birthday. Doing a one night show there. Showing my new pieces I've done lately. Including this gem.

There is also the possibility of an in gallery performance by the newly reformulated CzechsForSEX!!!

In other exciting news I did an interview with 614 Magazine this weekend that will run in their March Issue. Super hyped on getting some pubicity. I'll sign your copy in exchange for 40's and tallboys.

I've also been playing with an enlarger I recently purchased to varying degrees of success. Planning on learning some more from my friend Robby Staebler, he's got a nice dark room setup, hit him up to rent it out or get some prints made.

I've also decided to recycle my test strips into art pieces. Waste not want not or whatnot. What?!

Mickey Mauser is working on new songs, look for new shows from us in the coming weeks. Here's my schedule for the next few weeks as far as art goes.
2-19 83 Gallery show in Chicago
2-27 MS Society Benefit and Silent Auction at Basil
3-5 83 Gallery March opening
3-5 Cap City Creatives show at ClaySpace-Gallery 831 4-8 p.m.
I think that's all for now. See you all soon.

Winter creeps along...

ever so slowly. I haven't quite given up on my plan of churning out a bunch of new stuff during these slow months but it's not happening as quickly as I would like. Trying to get back into the swing of working on stuff everyday. Finished my skyline piece with some flowers and uplifting words.

It's not even dry yet, I seriously just finished it. The words will clear up once its dried. If you can't read them it says "Someday mankind will stupefy itself into oblivion, it's cities will burn and the Earth will be better for it."
Now I know what you're all thinking. Such a downer, right? Wrong. I like the earth and I like people for the most part. I don't want these things to happen, rather, I hope that by saying it like it is atleast a few people might stop and think for a change and stop being such shitheads. I just want better for you all <3>

Starting on another posi-piece just as soon as the base coat dries. Another one of my favorite topics, greed. I'll keep you updated on it as it progresses.

In other exciting news, I was contacted through Travonna by someone setting up an MS benefit and they want my art as part of the event. Going to have some wall space and also a silent auction. I was left in charge of the art aspect and so I'm having a few of my friends in the show as well. We'll finally get to see some of the Polaroids Ricky's been hoarding. Gina Gordon's going to have some prints and Arlo Moon will have a few pieces as well, possibly a few others.

And wait, and wait, there's more excitement still. Word on the street is there's going to be a 83 Gallery show in...Chicago! Oh yes. Even sweeter is its the weekend of my birthday, Feb 18. Apparently there'll be two shows. One in a warehouse space and another alledgedly in a mansion of some sort in which we'll be staying. Details are vague but me and the Mrs. will most likely fly out and join everyone.
That's all for now. Mickey Mauser is running strong and working on new material after moderate success with our first four shows despite my having laryngitis. See you soon.

Merry Christmas Eve eve...

Hey hey, trying to keep at it, got a few new pieces in the works/done/coming/etc. along with some other news.
First up, finished my "Vivisection of Modern Man" piece, that pretentious enough a name for you? Good, happy with the way it came out.

Got another I've been working at with some scrap book pages and skyline transfers, thinking of adding some flowers or something, maybe a T-Rex...

Also did this one as a gift, kinda sad to be giving it away so soon, we just got aquainted and I really like it...

In other exciting news, the day you've all been anxiously awaiting has arrived, well, is arriving...

Mickey Mauser, New Year's Eve @ The Boneyard!!!

That's right folks, we're playing our first show this New Year's. Gonna be a fun time, playing with Locusta and a bunch of other bands, not sure who, hit me up for directions and more info. We also have shirts and patches available, follow up at the Mauser blog. http://www.mickeymauser.blogspot.com/

That's all for now, I'll see you next year, have some collaborations coming up and who knows what else in the works. Here's an improv piece I made and shot with a shotgun, look for a more developed version of this in the future.

Now it's time for egg nog and Elf, sing for me Zooey, one more time with feeling...Feliz Navidad!

Lurking hard or hardly working...

Hey hey, me again. Super hyped on a new piece I just started on, trying to take my transfers to a different place, gotta good feeling. In the end this...

Is going to look like this...

Only better. We'll see how that works out. The Holiday hop shows were fun, sold a couple pieces, did not sell the one I fully expected to but, no worries, I don't mind looking at it awhile longer. Showed one of my newer pieces, nobody said much about it but I love it.

Should be quiet the next couple months as far as art shows are concerned. I'll have stuff up through the winter at Travonna and most likely at 83 as well. Hopefully going to get a few collaboration pieces done in the next couple months too.

In other news, Mickey Mauser is coming...

possibly a New Years debut, I'll keep you updated on that or you can keep yourself updated at http://www.mickeymauser.blogspot.com/ I'm mostly running that too so if it sucks or you think it's missing something let me know, check out our terrible music video directed by yours truly as well while you're there.

Well, that's all for now, buy some of my shirts at http://skreened.com/artfagclothing If there are any of my pieces you'd like to see as a shirt I'd be happy to make that happen, just let me know. Also, it's still not too late for Christmas Commissions, hit me up if you need a special gift for that special someone.

The beat goes on...

Still working on some new work for the upcoming shows at Travonna and 83 Gallery for Holiday Hop Dec. 4th. You're getting cellphone pics because I'm too busy (lazy) to get out the real camera and convert from raw for a blog update. These shows will both be sweet, you should definitely come out (along with everyone you know) Nothing is better than original art for Christ(ChanukahKwanzaEquinox)mas. Here's a bit of the new work...and the current state of my quarters...

In other news, Mickey Mauser is taking off, look for a debut sometime in either December or January, in the meantime, here's a practice tape song. Keep in mind there's another person doing vocals with me (just not on the tape.) gonna be f-in rad!!! Other than that, been on a hot sauce kick,

taking the #4 train to Lokoville...

and hanging with my girlfriend.

See you all soon, let me know if there's anything you want to know (on here).
Be sure to check out my friend over at http://rickycritchfield.blogspot.com/ He's got some new stuff going. We're coming hard in the spring, more on that in the weeks to follow...

Oh, October...

It's been so long. What have we done since? Still showing with 83 Gallery, some less than primetime coverage on the evening news. Didn't catch it? Pay more attention. Upcoming Holiday Hop show with them, should be good, also showing with Cap City the same day, come out to both events. One @ 83 Gallery, one @ Travonna, good times will be had. I've got a few new pieces (photos coming soon). I've got a new band going (Mickey Mauser) I'm living the dream (better believe it) Anyway, as I said, new photos coming soon. I'll catch up here shortly, expect to see you all soon. Enjoy this in the meantime (it's changed my life)

The awesomeness continues...

Thanks anyone who came out Saturday to the 83 Gallery opening, had a great time, sold a few pieces and hung out with good people. Lots of sick art as usual and made some new friends. Independent's Day was amazing as well, already seems like so long ago, sold some pieces there and got to see literally damn near all of my friends. No shows for a few weeks so I'll be getting to work on some new pieces, just inherited a couple sweet framed pictures I'm going to repaint. One's gold about 4ft x 2ft. Looking forward to making something happen with those. Have a few photo projects I want to try to get done. If anyone has a desk they don't need let me know, also, if you aren't adverse to getting in the creek in chilly weather that would be helpful too, going to need about 4 people to help on one of these.

Sold!

In other news, show tonight with Murder Party at the Boneyard, 8pm, come hang out. I'll be making my vocal debut this weekend at FearFest with Paranoid Character, things are coming along well with them. Going to pick up some Fuji pack film later since Ricky keeps insisting I shoot more of it, check him out, pure polaroid prodigy. That's all for now.
Shot this out trying to skate with Ricky one day. Flowers are fun.
