Merry Christmas Eve eve...

Hey hey, trying to keep at it, got a few new pieces in the works/done/coming/etc. along with some other news.
First up, finished my "Vivisection of Modern Man" piece, that pretentious enough a name for you? Good, happy with the way it came out.

Got another I've been working at with some scrap book pages and skyline transfers, thinking of adding some flowers or something, maybe a T-Rex...

Also did this one as a gift, kinda sad to be giving it away so soon, we just got aquainted and I really like it...

In other exciting news, the day you've all been anxiously awaiting has arrived, well, is arriving...

Mickey Mauser, New Year's Eve @ The Boneyard!!!

That's right folks, we're playing our first show this New Year's. Gonna be a fun time, playing with Locusta and a bunch of other bands, not sure who, hit me up for directions and more info. We also have shirts and patches available, follow up at the Mauser blog. http://www.mickeymauser.blogspot.com/

That's all for now, I'll see you next year, have some collaborations coming up and who knows what else in the works. Here's an improv piece I made and shot with a shotgun, look for a more developed version of this in the future.

Now it's time for egg nog and Elf, sing for me Zooey, one more time with feeling...Feliz Navidad!

Lurking hard or hardly working...

Hey hey, me again. Super hyped on a new piece I just started on, trying to take my transfers to a different place, gotta good feeling. In the end this...

Is going to look like this...

Only better. We'll see how that works out. The Holiday hop shows were fun, sold a couple pieces, did not sell the one I fully expected to but, no worries, I don't mind looking at it awhile longer. Showed one of my newer pieces, nobody said much about it but I love it.

Should be quiet the next couple months as far as art shows are concerned. I'll have stuff up through the winter at Travonna and most likely at 83 as well. Hopefully going to get a few collaboration pieces done in the next couple months too.

In other news, Mickey Mauser is coming...

possibly a New Years debut, I'll keep you updated on that or you can keep yourself updated at http://www.mickeymauser.blogspot.com/ I'm mostly running that too so if it sucks or you think it's missing something let me know, check out our terrible music video directed by yours truly as well while you're there.

Well, that's all for now, buy some of my shirts at http://skreened.com/artfagclothing If there are any of my pieces you'd like to see as a shirt I'd be happy to make that happen, just let me know. Also, it's still not too late for Christmas Commissions, hit me up if you need a special gift for that special someone.

The beat goes on...

Still working on some new work for the upcoming shows at Travonna and 83 Gallery for Holiday Hop Dec. 4th. You're getting cellphone pics because I'm too busy (lazy) to get out the real camera and convert from raw for a blog update. These shows will both be sweet, you should definitely come out (along with everyone you know) Nothing is better than original art for Christ(ChanukahKwanzaEquinox)mas. Here's a bit of the new work...and the current state of my quarters...

In other news, Mickey Mauser is taking off, look for a debut sometime in either December or January, in the meantime, here's a practice tape song. Keep in mind there's another person doing vocals with me (just not on the tape.) gonna be f-in rad!!! Other than that, been on a hot sauce kick,

taking the #4 train to Lokoville...

and hanging with my girlfriend.

See you all soon, let me know if there's anything you want to know (on here).
Be sure to check out my friend over at http://rickycritchfield.blogspot.com/ He's got some new stuff going. We're coming hard in the spring, more on that in the weeks to follow...

Oh, October...

It's been so long. What have we done since? Still showing with 83 Gallery, some less than primetime coverage on the evening news. Didn't catch it? Pay more attention. Upcoming Holiday Hop show with them, should be good, also showing with Cap City the same day, come out to both events. One @ 83 Gallery, one @ Travonna, good times will be had. I've got a few new pieces (photos coming soon). I've got a new band going (Mickey Mauser) I'm living the dream (better believe it) Anyway, as I said, new photos coming soon. I'll catch up here shortly, expect to see you all soon. Enjoy this in the meantime (it's changed my life)

The awesomeness continues...

Thanks anyone who came out Saturday to the 83 Gallery opening, had a great time, sold a few pieces and hung out with good people. Lots of sick art as usual and made some new friends. Independent's Day was amazing as well, already seems like so long ago, sold some pieces there and got to see literally damn near all of my friends. No shows for a few weeks so I'll be getting to work on some new pieces, just inherited a couple sweet framed pictures I'm going to repaint. One's gold about 4ft x 2ft. Looking forward to making something happen with those. Have a few photo projects I want to try to get done. If anyone has a desk they don't need let me know, also, if you aren't adverse to getting in the creek in chilly weather that would be helpful too, going to need about 4 people to help on one of these.

Sold!

In other news, show tonight with Murder Party at the Boneyard, 8pm, come hang out. I'll be making my vocal debut this weekend at FearFest with Paranoid Character, things are coming along well with them. Going to pick up some Fuji pack film later since Ricky keeps insisting I shoot more of it, check him out, pure polaroid prodigy. That's all for now.
Shot this out trying to skate with Ricky one day. Flowers are fun.

Busy Busy...

What a few weeks it has been. The CzechsForSEX show was a blast and apparently, despite driving damn near everyone out of the bar, I've got word that we're wanted back, I'll post something when I know. Urban Scrawl scrawl was a blast, thanks to Jon Stommel for letting me get in on that, painted with him, Chris Cropper and a few other rad guys whose names elude me at the moment, hit me up if you're out there. The panel came out great and may have provided me with a design for my first tattoo if I can ever afford one.

Last week was the 83 Gallery, Gallery Hop show, big turnout, lot's of sick work, met some great people and drank way too much free beer. Geoff then turned around and did another show the next week, and had a blast there too as well though not nearly as big, sold a few small pieces to some cool people. I still need to pick up my skateboard from there. Independent's Day is this coming weekend, Gay St. downtown and I'm showing and hanging out with my Cap City Creatives crew, come hang out and make some new friends. Let's see, what else...Developed my roll of film the other day and of course the only screwed up spot was of the portrait I really wanted, luckily I shot two.
Did a new piece the night before last Friday's 83 Gallery show, people seemed to like it, I like it. Still trying to find the balance between painting and photo transfer/wheatpasting.

Just remembering all this is making me tired, last two things.
Murder Party!!! We'll be playing Dreadful Sounds Sept. 20th, 7pm, don't be late, it's an early show, playing with New Creases and possibly Lifeguard.
I also just joined Paranoid Character and will be "singing" with them at Fearfest way up north here in a month. We may do a show at The Boneyard before that as a test run, I'll let you know, pretty hyped, nervous about rewriting and memorizing a set's worth of songs in a month though.
That's all for now, let me know what you want to hear from me, gotta run now, have a Cap City meeting to attend.

I just met some Monks...

Just met some Humanist Monks at the thrift store, I assumed they were Krishna or Buddhist given their attire of orange robes and beards and Turban. Well, I suppose Krishna, Hindu or the like since the Buddhist tend to keep it clean cut. Anyway, shot some portraits of them, hope the one of the oldest turns out, sweet gray beard on this old Indian man's face. Rad. Anyway, going to see my friend Greg play with Greg Ginn from Black Flag tonight. In the meantime gotta finish some of the backtrack audio for the CzechsForSEX show tomorrow at Hal & Al's, I expect you all to be there. Also gotta get some stuff together for Urban Scrawl tomorrow during the day, should be a fun day. I'll post those shots when I finish the roll and develop them. Until then, enjoy these shots from roll of film I bleached before developing awhile back...

Rainy day work...

So much for keeping up on this, anyway, here's what's new. Been working on some new photo transfer pieces, coming out great. Only problem is I haven't been shooting enough for the last year and am running out of photos to use. I like doing the transfers because it's way cooler than just a print that anyone can make anywhere. I don't like the idea of selling people prints with no uniqueness and I can't afford the more elaborate print techniques. I like being able to give some one something tactile and real to hold. The texture is great too. Trying to do a full series and get a show somewhere.

Still showing at Travonna in the meantime and got a mention in this weeks Alive, pretty hyped on the exposure. Teaming up with Jon Stommel and his crew at the upcoming Urban Scrawl, interested to see how that turns out. Then the (not so?) infamous CzechsForSEX will be playing Hal and Al's that night, come party. Anyway, here's some new shots I just developed, Paper Negatives in my Graflex 4x5. A lot of fun to tote around and use, people think you're weird. Proud of myself on the exposure since I didn't have a meter handy and had to do the math in my head to compensate for Iso 6. Let me know if any of you are actually reading this and what you want to hear, I'll be happy to chime in on anything. ciao for now.

Round 2...

Here we go again, just can't seem to stay with this blogging thing. This time turning towards my work and what I tell everyone I'm doing. I'm not very good at being self employed. Starting things off with some new work I've done. A lot of it's hanging at Travonna Coffee shop, 1195 N. High St.

Supposed to show with 83 Gallery again in August or September. Maybe doing something with ReFindDesign and hopefully doing Urban Scrawl. If anyone knows anything else, let me know. I'll try talking about some of my work in the next few days, I've heard peole like that. Ciao!
